Modak is not just a festive delicacy, but a much loved Maharashtrian traditional sweet that is a part of special occasions and celebrations.
With our rice flour that is made from the best sourced ingredients, the covering of modaks is perfect – soft, not too thick and complements the sweet filling inside.


Recipe

Preparation for Stuffing

Grind 1 cup of desiccated coconut and ½ cup of jaggery together. Once the stuffing is dry add 1 tsp of roasted poppy seeds and cardamom powder as desired and stir well and cool.

Preparation for Modak

Add 1 cup of water, 1 teaspoon of butter and salt to taste and boil the water well. When it boils, turn off the flame and add 1 cup of Abhiruchi modak flour to it, stir well and cover it. Knead the dough well after 2 minutes. Fill the coconut pulp and mold it by hand or in a mold. Steam well for 15 minutes and serve hot with ghee.
